Overview of Position

The Investment Operations position is an entry-level role responsible for performing various tasks relating to back-office functions at Argent. The primary focus will be partnering with other team members in their daily routines. The Investment Operations tasks range in complexity and involve the ability to efficiently follow processes, think critically and problem solve under pressure, with an emphasis in reconciling data and accounts. Equally important is the ability to work with and communicate with others in a team environment. Attention to detail and time management skills are key performance indicators and vital to success.

Primary Goals and Supporting Responsibilities

Essential Functions & Supporting Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the daily administration of the Portfolio Management and Trading Systems.
    • Perform account reconciliation against custodial accounts
      • Balance daily cash and position reports.
      • Analyze/research undocumented items.
    • Internal account administration/system maintenance pertaining to client requests
      • Communicating with brokers and custodians on the settlement of transactions.
  • Back-up to other members of Operations and Business Services teams.
  • Actively identify opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and systems.
    • Assist with the creating and maintaining of various operational procedures.
  • Complete other projects as assigned by Manager or other key team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Educational Background
    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or other related field.
  • Experience
    • 1 – 3 years of banking or financial services experience is preferred.
  • Technical Skills
    • Strong communication, problem solving, and attention to detail skills.
    • Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
    • Ability to focus and achieve individual Objectives and Key Results.
    • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
